This Android phone eschews the ubiquitous ARM-based CPUs found in 99.9% of Phones and is instead built around an Intel x86 Atom CPU. Despite that, it goes toe-to-toe with Flagship Android phones from Samsung, Google and others in terms of performance, battery life and features. The ZE551 ML retails for $299 USD and provides 64gb of eMMC, 4gb of Dual Channel DDR3 and a 2.3ghz quad-core x86 Atom CPU.
While not perfect, the phone is a good value and it’s only going to get better from here.

Hi! Can you make a review for a marshmallow os for the asus zen2? Thanks!
So if you cant use this for sprint, i am assuming that i cant use this for virgin mobile???
Guys,
This phone is a fucking waste. Don’t ever ever ever buy this. In fact I’d suggest not to buy any ASUS products. I bought this phone (ZE551ML-4GB RAM) 6 months ago. It was working fine with minor issues but after few software updates this phone became completely unusable. The phone starts taking input by itself and hangs. For example when you’re using WhatsApp it will start entering random texts by itself takes a picture and sends automatically to a contact. This keeps on happening you can’t use any app properly. Second thing is the phone loses the screen response at a particular place on the display. For example suppose you’re dialing a number you find that you can’t enter 6 or 7 no matter whatever you do, how hard you press, and you just can’t enter that number unless you restart it. After restarting some other key won’t work. I talked to the support which is absolutely useless they give the same solution for every problem which doesn’t work at all. If a device hangs you can sleep and wake it again or restart and use it again but this fucking shitty device keeps on flickering taking inputs by itself which is so so so annoying. You’ll literally feel like throwing this on your wall. Its better you give the money to some charity or beggars rather than buying this shit piece.
Don't know if you'll see this, but is this phone worth picking up for £160? I'd mainly use it for Pokemon GO (sad, i know) and it would be replacing my HTC One M7.
Excellent review. I got the phone and totally love it. It is one of the best performance android phone I ever used, and the built quality is excellent. The only draw back is that it got an okay speaker. it is acceptable to me for I don't use the phone speaker to listen to music.
i was planning to buy an asus zenfone 2 2.3Ghz,4 ram and 32 gb but i saw a lot of bad comments, are these true?
I notice not much was said or maybe I missed it but the sound. I'm not talking about listening to music watching videos, or playing video games, but receiving calls. The one thing I don't like about my phone now is sound quality when receiving call I have to either put on speaker or have a bluetooth set so I can hear
I'm purchasing this phone now. Thanks for this great overview of the phone.
can someone send me a link to this phone that works worldwide? Does this phone work with Verizon or Boost Mobile?
Hey sir, can we have a step by step method in changing the font size (your method) using amd? thank you
just want to ask if you ever had a problem with your 128gb sd card in the zenfone? my device keeps popping an alert that says "unexpected removal of external memory" which might damage the sd card, it says. but after a few second it detects the sd card again.
my zenfone 2
Is that an Intel Edison in the background at 1:54 ?
just bought this phone. its on charge, i cant wait to use it! $420 in australia. Still cheap in comparison then other phone on the market with better specs then the others
Awesome review and thank you for keeping it simple
Did you end up doing a followup video to see if you can take the battery out? And how did the screen hold up? Is it really that sensitive to scratches ?
amigo eu gostaria de se meu zenfone2 ze551ml 4gb de ram tem suporte para OTG ? porque ja tentei de tudo e nao deu em nada de OTG
I have this phone
It's great
hm imagine windows 10 phone with x86 processor. continuum would bee awsome
i bought it.. and its massively good..
REALLY good review…
I had the same problem with the screen getting scratched. My advice: Buy a screen protector from some phone shop before this gets shipped to you and apply it as soon as you unbox it.
ASUS 🙂
thank you very much for the idea of "adb shell wm density 400" it is wonderful ^_^ and make it a new phone 🙂
